Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen When your wedding is disrupted by a series of terrifying events, what happens? The new Netflix horror series Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen, directed by Haley Z. Boston, explores this unsettling scenario. The show follows Rachel, a woman preparing for her private wedding to her fiancé Nicky, as she becomes consumed by paranoia and dread as strange occurrences escalate around her. Starring Camila Morrone and Adam DiMarco, the series is executive produced by Stranger Things creators Matt and Ross Duffer through their production company, Upside Down Pictures. The plot centers on Rachel’s growing unease as she navigates the unfamiliar territory of meeting her fiancé’s family, uncovering hidden secrets and confronting her own fears. Boston, who cited Carrie and Rosemary’s Baby as inspirations, emphasized the show’s focus on Rachel’s discomfort. “We wanted the audience to feel the paranoia and fear she experiences,” she told Entertainment Weekly. “Even when she’s not in a scene, we constructed the show around her discomfort. It’s about stepping into a world with its own lore, and suddenly being thrust into it.” The series premieres on Netflix on March 26 at 3 a.m. ET, with all eight episodes released simultaneously. The cast includes Jennifer Jason Leigh as Victoria Cunningham, Ted Levine as Boris Cunningham, Jeff Wilbusch as Jules Cunningham, Gus Birney as Portia Cunningham, Sawyer Fraser as Jude, and Zlatko Burić as a mysterious figure. Boston’s inspiration for the project stems from a childhood memory. Her mother once told her, “You can do whatever you want in your life, just make sure you don’t marry the wrong person.” This advice, she explained, created a lingering sense of pressure and fear about commitment.#stranger_things #haley_z_boston #camila_morrone #adam_diMarco #upside_down_pictures
