Key decisions included the expansion of core areas in the proposed satellite towns of Patna (Patliputra) and Tirhut (Muzaffarpur), as well as the allocation of 126 crore rupees for the repair of the Vikramshila Bridge in Bhagalpur. The cabinet also cleared proposals for rapid rail projects, solar power initiatives, and infrastructure development across the state. The expansion of Patliputra and Tirhut satellite townships will focus on core areas, with additional land acquisition approved to develop basic infrastructure, services, and facilities. The state government plans to integrate these towns into the broader urban framework, ensuring connectivity and modernization. Technical assistance for the development of all 12 satellite towns will be provided by the Center for Environmental Planning and Technology in Ahmedabad. The Vikramshila Bridge, which collapsed partially in May 2026, will undergo extensive repairs. The 126 crore rupees allocated will cover the construction of a new suspended slab, restoration of the entire structure, and the temporary Belly Bridge, which has been in use since the incident. The bridge, a critical link across the Ganga River, will be fully restored to ensure uninterrupted transportation.
