Protesters accused the government of implementing a “deceptive” scheme that fails to address the recurring cycle of farm indebtedness despite acknowledging it in the resolution’s preamble. The activists disrupted traffic by halting a city bus during the protest, raising slogans of “Jai Vidarbha” and demanding immediate action. They criticized the government for prioritizing industrialists and corporate entities over farmers, who they described as the “very people who feed the nation.” According to the June 2 GR, farmers remain trapped in a debt cycle despite previous loan waivers, yet the scheme offers no meaningful relief. Protesters argued that the government’s approach is driven by financial constraints, even as it writes off loans for large corporations. During the protest, police detained two activists, Taresh Durugkar and Vilas Suryavanshi, after they attempted to stop a moving bus. Both were released after approximately an hour.
