BJP slams Gudadhe, says family’s roots lie in party The BJP’s Nagpur city unit launched a sharp critique of newly appointed Nagpur City Congress Committee president Prafulla Gudadhe, accusing him of hypocrisy after he criticized the party for allegedly shutting down its operations. Party functionary Jitendra (Bunty) Kukde turned Gudadhe’s remarks back on the Congress, emphasizing that the family’s political ascent began with the BJP. Kukde addressed a press conference to counter Gudadhe’s claims, asserting that it was the Congress, not the BJP, whose "shops" had been shut across districts. He questioned the Congress’s performance in the 2024 Maharashtra assembly elections, asking, "Under whose state presidency was the Congress's own shop shut?" Kukde accused Gudadhe of mocking the BJP, a party he described as having been built over decades by millions of workers. He labeled Gudadhe as the "face of a leaderless Congress" and warned that the BJP would expose the party’s "double standards" in the coming days. The exchange followed Gudadhe’s swearing-in ceremony on June 6, where he remarked that while his father was Nagpur’s first BJP MLA, it was his "responsibility to bring the shutters down on the BJP office." Kukde highlighted the Gudadhe family’s political history, noting that Prafulla Gudadhe’s father, Vinod Gudadhe Patil, was elevated to a corporator, MLA, and minister by the BJP. He credited senior BJP leaders Gangadharrao Fadnavis and Sumatitai Suklikar for bringing Vinod Gudadhe Patil into politics. Kukde further alleged that after Vinod Gudadhe Patil left the BJP, no family member succeeded in securing an MLA seat or ministerial office.#nagpur #bjp #praffulla_gudadhe #jitendra_kukde #vinod_gudadhe_patil
