Armed Goons Go Berserk, Rob & Murder Auto Driver On Desolate Road A violent incident unfolded on the desolate Gorewada to Pitesur road in Nagpur on Saturday night, where armed goons allegedly robbed and stabbed an autorickshaw driver to death while also injuring a catering worker and manhandling women in the group. The attack, which occurred around 12:30 am, has sparked demands for improved police patrolling and security measures on vulnerable stretches of the road. The victims included Mohammad Kashid Mohammad Rafiq, a driver from Mominpura, who was fatally stabbed during the assault. He was rushed to a hospital but succumbed to his injuries. The attack also left Kamlesh Jadiya, a catering worker, with injuries to his left hand. The incident occurred when the autorickshaw, carrying nine catering workers—including women—was intercepted near the Hanuman Temple T-point on the Gorewada-Pitesur Road. The goons, described as knife-wielding individuals, forcibly stopped vehicles and pedestrians before targeting the autorickshaw. The assailants allegedly charged at the catering workers with knives after they resisted the robbery attempt. The driver, Kashid, was then assaulted and stabbed repeatedly in various parts of his body. The attackers also snatched his mobile phone and approximately Rs 3,000 in cash before fleeing the scene. Mankapur police, along with the crime branch and Gittikhadan police, launched a joint operation to investigate the incident. Within a couple of hours, seven suspects were arrested, including Yash Gawande, Navin Uike, Raj Thakur, Sameer Uike, Sanjay Jogi, and Rohit Jagdale, all residents of Gorewada. A 17-year-old boy was also detained, while two more unidentified accused remain at large.#mankapur_police #gorewada_pitesur_road #sheikh_salim_sheikh_sameer #yash_gawande #navin_uike
