Shiv Sena Congress Supriya Sule How Sharad Pawar Became Maharashtra Opposition's Rajya Sabha Candidate: Inside Story The decision to field Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar as the opposition's candidate for the upcoming Rajya Sabha polls in Maharashtra was taken after a series of discussions between top leaders of the Shiv Sena and the Congress. According to sources, the idea of nominating Pawar was floated by Supriya Sule, the daughter of NCP patriarch Pawar. Sule is said to have impressed upon her party colleagues that fielding her father would be an ideal way to counterbalance the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) strong presence in the Rajya Sabha. The Congress had been looking for a suitable candidate to take on the BJP, and Sule's proposal was seen as an opportunity to unite the opposition. The Shiv Sena and the Congress have been working together in the Maharashtra Assembly, with the two parties sharing power at the state level. Their relationship has been smooth sailing so far, and the decision to field Pawar was seen as a natural progression of their partnership. Pawar's experience in parliament, his reputation for being an effective voice against the ruling party, and his stature in Indian politics made him an attractive choice for the opposition. The NCP chief is known for his ability to bring people together, and it was hoped that he would be able to do the same in the Rajya Sabha. The decision to field Pawar was also seen as a way to send out a strong message to the BJP and its allies. The ruling party has been trying to consolidate power at the Centre and in states, and the opposition wanted to make it clear that they were not going to go down without a...#Congress #Supriya_Sule #Sharad_Pawar #Shiv_Sena #Lok_Sabha #Nationalist_Congress_Party_NCP #Bharatiya_Janata_Party_BJP #Maharashtra_Assembly
Shilpa Shetty’s Personality Rights suit: Bombay HC questions legality of AI chatbots simulating celebrities The Bombay High Court on Wednesday raised significant questions about the legality of Artificial Intelligence tools that simulate celebrity personalities without their consent, during the hearing of a personality rights suit filed by actor Shilpa Shetty Kundra. The matter, titled Shilpa Shetty v. getoutlive. in & Ors. , concerns the alleged misuse of the actor’s image, voice and likeness through morphed visuals, deepfake content and AI-generated interactions. Justice Sharmila Deshmukh questioned how online platforms could permit users to “have a chat” with an AI version of a celebrity without obtaining consent from the concerned individual. “Without the permission of the personality, can you use an AI to chat with anybody in any manner? What is your right to do that?” the Court asked the lawyer appearing for an AI chatbot platform accused of misusing Shetty’s persona. When the platform’s counsel argued that its algorithm did not require permission from celebrities, the Court pressed further, drawing a distinction between users uploading content and AI systems knowingly generating simulated personalities. “This is an AI-generated platform that knows that it is not real. How can AI create somebody's personality in this manner without their permission and make it available in general public?” Justice Deshmukh observed. The Court directed the platform to file a det... #High_Court #Wednesday_raised #Bombay_High #Artificial_Intelligence #Shilpa_Shetty #Shetty_Kundra #Intelligence_tools #questions_legality #suit_filed #significant_questions

MVA Backs Sharad Pawar for Rajya Sabha, Unopposed Election Likely; BJP Declares List of Four The Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) coalition has decided to back Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar for the upcoming Rajya Sabha polls in Maharashtra. This move is likely to ensure his unopposed election, sources said. Pawar's candidature was discussed and finalised at a meeting of the MVA leaders on Sunday, with the coalition partners agreeing to back him without any opposition. The NCP leader has been a key figure in state politics for decades and has played a crucial role in shaping the state's governance. The BJP, which is also set to contest the polls, declared its list of four candidates on Monday. The party's nominees are Union Ministers Piyush Goyal, Narayan Rane, and Ramdas Athawale, along with former MP Pratap Chikitsala. The Rajya Sabha polls in Maharashtra will be held on February 22 to fill the three vacant seats in the Upper House of Parliament. The MVA coalition has a majority in the state Assembly, which means it is likely to secure Pawar's unopposed election. The development comes as a boost for Pawar, who has been facing pressure from some quarters within his party and outside over his leadership style and performance. His backing by the MVA coalition is seen as an endorsement of his stature in state politics and his ability to bring people together. The BJP, on the other hand, is looking to increase its presence in the Rajya Sabha and make up for its losses in the recent Assembly polls. The party has been trying to consolidate its position in Maharashtra by fielding strong candidates and wooing voters.#BJP #NCP #Maharashtra #Sharad_Pawar #Piyush_Goyal #Rajya_Sabha #Ramdas_Athawale #Nationalist_Congress_Party #Maha_Vikas_Aghadi #Narayan_Rane #Pratap_Chikitsala
