Delhi Police Uncover Unlawful Government Drug Racket, Seize 70 Lakh Worth of Stock, 3 Arrested The Delhi Police’s Crime Branch conducted a major operation in the Tis Hazaari area of Delhi, dismantling a well-organized network involved in the illegal trafficking of government-supplied medicines. During the raid on April 2, police arrested three individuals and seized approximately 70 lakh rupees worth of drugs, along with two vehicles used for transportation. The operation was led by Inspector Neeraj Sharma under the supervision of Additional Commissioner of Police Girish Kausik. The arrested individuals, identified as Neeraj Kumar (53) from Saharanpur, Shushil Kumar (47), and Laxman Mukhiya (48) from Delhi, were found transporting a large quantity of government medicines in a Mahindra Champion Tempo and a Boleeno car. The seized drugs, marked with the label “Government Supply, Not for Sale,” were confirmed to be part of an illegal distribution chain. According to police, Neeraj Kumar had been operating the racket for over a year and a half. He allegedly sourced medicines from within hospitals using his connections and distributed them through intermediaries to various cities. The investigation revealed that two additional suspects, Binesh Kumar (54), a pharmacist at Deyan Deyal Upadhyay Hospital, and Prakash Mehta (30), a contractual employee at the same hospital, were involved in manipulating hospital records to divert medicines from stock. Prakash Mehta played a critical role in the network, handling the logistics of drug distribution, storage, and even managing financial transactions via UPI.#delhi_police #neeraj_kumar #tis_hazaari #inspector_neeraj_sharma #additional_commissioner_girish_kausik
