DDU Hospital Medicine Scam: Pharmacist and 4 Others Arrested in Government Drug Theft Case The Crime Branch has dismantled a well-organized network involved in the illegal diversion of government medicines from DDU Hospital, resulting in the arrest of five individuals, including a pharmacist and a hospital helper. The operation uncovered a systematic scheme where stolen drugs were sold to unauthorized dealers in Saharanpur, with the proceeds funneled through a network of intermediaries. The investigation revealed that the accused had been exploiting their positions within the hospital to siphon off essential medications, including antibiotics and injections critical for treating severe illnesses. These drugs were then transported in a Mahindra Champion tempo and a Baleno car, which were seized during the raid. The seized cargo included over 70 lakh rupees worth of medicines, including life-saving antivenom, erythropoietin injections, and other critical supplies. The arrested individuals, identified as Neeraj Kumar, Shushil Kumar, Lakshman Mukhiya, Binesh Kumar, and Prakash Mahato, operated as a coordinated team. Neeraj Kumar, the owner of a pharmacy in Saharanpur, acted as the primary recipient and distributor of the stolen drugs. Shushil Kumar, a taxi driver, facilitated the transportation of the drugs from Delhi to Saharanpur, while Lakshman Mukhiya, a tempo driver, transported the stolen stock to transit hubs. Binesh Kumar, a pharmacist at DDU Hospital, and Prakash Mahato, a contractual helper at the hospital’s pharmacy, were responsible for diverting medicines from the hospital’s stock and falsifying records to conceal the theft.#ddu_hospital #crime_branch #neeraj_kumar #shushil_kumar #lakshman_mukhiya
