Central Railway Relocates Taxi Pick-Up Zone At Nagpur Station For Passenger Convenience Nagpur: Central Railway's Nagpur Division has relocated the taxi pick-up zone at Nagpur Railway Station to a more accessible location near the main entrance of the heritage building, aiming to improve passenger convenience and boost usage of the newly revived prepaid cab service. The move follows a period of uncertainty for the service, which had been suspended for nearly 18 months before resuming operations around two weeks ago. The previous pick-up point, located near the dome area of Platform No. 1, was deemed inconvenient for passengers, particularly senior citizens, families with children, and travelers carrying heavy luggage. The new location, situated approximately 200 metres from the former site, is now directly visible to passengers exiting the station, making it easier to locate and access. The relocation was supervised by divisional railway manager Vinayak Garg and senior divisional commercial manager Aman Mittal. Railway officials anticipate that the change will enhance the visibility of the service and encourage greater patronage of the prepaid cabs, which are designed to provide seamless last-mile connectivity at one of Central India's busiest railway stations. The shift comes amid reports of a subdued initial response to the service, with factors such as RTA-approved fares and an additional ₹50 convenience charge potentially influencing commuter preferences. Bharat Cabs, the operator of the prepaid service, has expressed plans to expand its operations beyond Nagpur.
