In return, Shri provided expensive gifts and cash to the officers and their families. The investigation revealed that Shri arranged lavish overseas trips for the IAS officers, covering everything from airfare to five-star hotel stays. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had already filed a case against Shri under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) for his alleged role in siphoning public funds.
