Bihar Government Approves 5 Private Universities and 4 New Court Buildings The Bihar government has approved the establishment and operation of five private universities in five districts, along with the construction of new court buildings in four cities. The decision was announced by Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary during a cabinet meeting held on June 24, 2026. The meeting cleared 45 agenda items, including the approval for these educational and judicial infrastructure projects. The approved private universities will be set up in the following districts: Madhubani: Sanjha University Siwan: A private university Nawada: Ashok Nagar, ESA University Patna: Himalaya University Aurangabad: Jasoiya Mod, Sityoga University In addition to the universities, the government has given administrative approval for the construction of new court buildings in four districts: Maharaajganj (Siwan): 10 court buildings, an amenity building, and a jail building with a total allocation of ₹34.33 crore Motihari (East Champaran): 20 court buildings with ₹53.02 crore allocated Begusarai: 15 court buildings (G+7 floors) with ₹39.04 crore approved Rajauli (Nawada): 10 court buildings, an amenity building, and a jail building with ₹38.38 crore sanctioned Chief Minister Choudhary emphasized that these projects will strengthen the judicial infrastructure, expedite legal proceedings, and provide better access to justice for citizens. The initiatives aim to address the growing demand for legal services and improve the efficiency of the court system.
