Olivia Wilde Reveals Walton Goggins Saved Her Life During Movie Set Accident Olivia Wilde has shared a harrowing account of how Walton Goggins intervened to save her life during a dangerous horse accident while filming Jon Favreau’s 2011 film Cowboys & Aliens. The incident, which Wilde recounted on Monday’s episode of Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast, occurred during a high-stakes scene involving the cast and a chaotic desert chase. Wilde, who portrayed a mysterious woman in the space Western, described the moment she was thrown from a horse and faced a life-threatening situation. The film, set in 1873 Arizona, featured a star-studded cast including Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford, and Goggins, who played an outlaw. Wilde explained that the accident happened during a particularly intense sequence where the actors were galloping across the desert with a large group of horses. “We were two months into filming, and we got real cocky with it,” she said. “We were pretty competitive, and it was me, Daniel Craig, and Harrison Ford galloping like full sprint across the desert with 40 horses behind us.” The scene involved a dramatic leap over a six-foot ditch, which Wilde had anticipated. “I could see ahead of us that there was a large ditch,” she recalled. “I was like, this horse is going to jump that ditch. And I’m on this western saddle, no helmet, because I’m playing like an old-timey lady.” Despite her experience riding English-style horses, the Western-style mount proved challenging. As the horse leapt, Wilde was thrown off, landing on her head and back. She described the moment as terrifying, with dust obscuring her from the charging horses behind her. “I remember having my ear to the ground and I could hear it. It sounded like thunder, like they were coming towards me,” she said.#walton_goggins #olivia_wilde #jon_favreau #cowboys_aliens #dax_shepard
