113gm MD Seized On Samruddhi Eway Nagpur police intercepted a private bus on the Samruddhi Expressway near Waifall toll naka, seizing approximately 113 grams of MD powder valued at 12 lakh rupees from two smugglers. The operation, part of a 24-hour surveillance effort, was initiated after intelligence indicated the narcotics consignment was being transported from a supplier codenamed “DISC” in Mumbai’s Kurla area. This follows a previous interception of 150 kilograms of Cannabis bound for Mumbai, conducted by the same team. The accused, Sayyed Qureshi and Shakeel Khalid, are alleged to operate from Mominpura in central Nagpur. Shakeel Khalid, according to police, has a prior criminal record. During the operation, authorities also confiscated mobile phones and other incriminating evidence. The action was carried out under the directive of Crime Police (CP) Ravinder Singal’s “Operation Thunder” and DCP (Crime) Deepak Aggarwal. The police are currently registering a case at Hingna police station, marking the latest in a series of drug seizures targeting smuggling networks. The incident highlights the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to disrupt illicit drug trafficking routes, particularly along major highways like the Samruddhi Expressway.
