Edison Hardware Store Hosts Watch Party for Netflix Show Filmed There EDISON – When the Netflix crime-comedy series “Big Mistakes” premieres next week, it will already have a built-in fan base in the southern section of Edison. That’s because part of the show, starring Dan Levy of the Emmy Award-winning “Schitt’s Creek,” was filmed last summer inside a longtime local business, Edison Millwork and Hardware. To celebrate the show’s release, the store at 9 Old Post Road will host a public watch party beginning at 6:30 p.m. on April 11, using a widescreen projection television set up in the parking lot behind the store in its garden department. Owner Angelo Mancuso said the space is also used for Sunday concerts during the warmer months. “Anyone who wants to come and watch it is more than welcome,” said Mancuso, whose family-owned business has served the community for nearly 50 years. Mancuso emphasized his enjoyment of hosting events that bring people together, particularly during flower season. “It’s as much for my entertainment as it is for giving back to the community,” he added. According to a Facebook post promoting the event, attendees will receive a free bag of popcorn from the popcorn machine that appears in the show. Mancuso expressed his delight when the production selected his store as a filming location. “They treated us very well, like royalty, and I couldn’t be happier to have them find my store during our 50th anniversary year,” he said. He noted the store was chosen because it’s an authentic mom-and-pop operation. “I was fortunate that they chose my store,” he added. A two-minute trailer for “Big Mistakes,” which officially premieres April 9, has already been released. Mancuso mentioned the hardware store appears in roughly three scenes.#netflix #big_mistakes #edison_millwork_and_hardware #angelo_mancuso #edison
