Hero Splendor Plus Flex Fuel Variant Launched with E85 Compliance Features The Hero Splendor Plus Flex Fuel variant has been introduced as a specialized edition featuring modifications to ensure compatibility with E85 fuel, a blend of 85% ethanol and 15% petrol. The variant includes several design and technical changes that distinguish it from the standard Splendor Plus model. The first notable change is the new color scheme, which features a black finish paired with lime yellow and blue graphics. The fuel tank retains the "Hero" graphic on its upper section, similar to the standard model, but the lower portion now displays a "Flex Fuel" graphic to indicate its E85 compatibility. This visual distinction highlights the variant’s fuel-specific design. Under the hood, the Flex Fuel variant uses the same 97.2cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine as the standard model, which produces 8.4bhp and 8.3Nm of torque. However, the variant sees a slight increase in power, with an additional 1.3bhp and 0.25Nm of torque compared to the standard version. To support E85 fuel, the motorcycle includes a new fuel pump, a secondary air filter, and a recalibrated ECU (engine control unit) map. These adjustments are necessary to optimize combustion efficiency and fuel delivery for the higher ethanol content in E85. The instrument console has been upgraded to a semi-digital setup, replacing the analogue unit found on the standard model. The new design features an analogue speedometer in one pod and a digital display in the other for fuel level readouts. This change gives the motorcycle a more modern appearance while improving usability for riders.
