Ustaad Bhagat Singh Director Calls Aditya Dhar Superior Filmmaker Amid Dhurandhar 2 Clash The release of Pawan Kalyan’s Ustaad Bhagat Singh is set to collide with Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar 2 during the Ugadi and Eid holiday weekend, sparking discussions about their potential competition. However, director Harish Shankar, who helmed Ustaad Bhagat Singh, has clarified that the two films are not direct rivals. In an interview with Gulte, Shankar stated that the release date of his film was not under his control and emphasized that the two projects belong to entirely different genres. Shankar acknowledged Aditya Dhar’s filmmaking prowess, calling him a “superior filmmaker” and citing Uri as a standout work. He noted that while Dhurandhar 2 is a major release, the Telugu states will serve as the primary market for Ustaad Bhagat Singh. “If it had been a Shah Rukh Khan film, we might have reconsidered the release date,” Shankar said, highlighting the distinct nature of the two films. He added that the decision to release Ustaad Bhagat Singh on March 19 was a collective one, not solely his choice. The director also addressed concerns about competition, stating that multiple big films can coexist in the market. “There’s space for 2-3 major films to work simultaneously,” he said, noting that the release of Dhurandhar 2 does not preclude other films from showing in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Ustaad Bhagat Singh, an adaptation of the 2016 Tamil film Theri, stars Pawan Kalyan alongside Sreeleela and Raashii Khanna. Originally scheduled for March 26, the film’s release was moved to March 19 to fill a gap left by the postponed Toxic film. Meanwhile, Dhurandhar 2, starring Ranveer Singh, is already generating significant buzz.#aditya_dhar #ranveer_singh #dhurandhar_2 #pawan_kalyan #harish_shankar
