Nirbhaya Master Plan Set To Roll Out for Women and Child Safety in Nagpur Nagpur is set to implement its first comprehensive roadmap for women and child safety, known as the Nirbhaya Master Plan, which is nearing completion and expected to be launched within days. The initiative is being spearheaded by Commissioner of Police Vishwas Nangre Patil, who previously oversaw similar women-centric policing programs during his tenure as IG of Kolhapur Range and Joint Commissioner of Police in Mumbai. The plan aims to enhance safety for women and girls through a combination of technological advancements, community engagement, and stricter enforcement measures. A key component of the plan involves identifying crime hotspots and vulnerable locations, such as isolated areas and city outskirts, using data-driven analysis to monitor incidents against women. Regular updates will be provided to ensure timely responses to emerging threats. To address these concerns, every police station will establish dedicated women’s patrol teams and women help desks, ensuring prompt assistance and support for victims. The initiative also emphasizes proactive intervention rather than reactive measures. Police will take swift action against repeat offenders, particularly those targeting young girls or involved in incidents like flashing, as seen in areas such as Hudkeshwar and Rana Pratap Nagar. Measures include summoning and counseling the families of offenders, alongside the application of stringent laws such as the Maharashtra Prevention of Dangerous Activities (MPDA) Act. The plan further mandates close monitoring of women’s hostels, schools, colleges, and workplaces, with special deployments and preventive actions at the police station level.#nagpur #hudkeshwar #rana_pratap_nagar #vishwas_nangre_patil #nirbhaya_master_plan
