Shatrughan Sinha defends Dhurandhar 2: ‘A film is a film, not propaganda’, calls Aditya Dhar a role model; hasn’t watched Dhurandhar 2 As Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge continues its impressive run at the box office, the film has sparked a political debate, with some critics and politicians labeling it as propaganda. Veteran actor and politician Shatrughan Sinha has publicly addressed the controversy, clarifying his stance. Speaking in an interview with News18, Sinha dismissed claims that the film’s narrative constitutes propaganda. He stated, “I haven’t seen Dhurandhar 2, but I have seen Dhurandhar 1, and I really liked the film. I even tweeted about it.” He added, “I’ve read those claims, but I wouldn’t call it propaganda. A film is a film — it has entertainment, it has grip.” Sinha praised the film’s director, Aditya Dhar, calling him a “role model filmmaker.” He highlighted the quality of the film, saying, “Such a fine director, such a well-made film — we haven’t seen such engaging cinema in a long time.” When asked to compare Dhurandhar, Pathaan, Ek Tha Tiger, and Dhurandhar 2, Sinha expressed his preference for the original Dhurandhar, stating, “Dhurandhar, I liked it very much.” He also acknowledged Shah Rukh Khan’s status as a national icon, noting, “Of course I like his films, but I haven’t watched Pathaan.” Sinha remained firm in his defense of the first film, saying, “No, no — I’ve already praised Dhurandhar 1. Once I’ve praised it, that’s the end of the matter.” When pressed about critics opposing Dhurandhar 2, he chose to withhold his opinion until after watching the film. “I’ll say something after I watch it,” he said. “If you want me to say ‘Khamosh,’ I won’t say it right now. I’ll say it after watching the film.#aditya_dhar #ranveer_singh #dhurandhar_2 #r_madhavan #shatrughan_sinha
