Rescue operations were underway in Gadchiroli as authorities remained vigilant amid forecasts of further rain. The storm’s impact was most severe in Chandrapur, where the administration declared a second consecutive holiday for schools and colleges due to the intensity of the downpours. Low-lying areas were inundated, and traffic was severely disrupted, with several villages in the district experiencing exceptional rainfall. Gadchiroli emerged as one of the worst-affected districts, with floodwaters cutting off several villages. In a coordinated effort, local authorities and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) evacuated three stranded residents from Kumbhi village. Among those rescued was a young man who had recently joined a bank job in Rajasthan, a student en route to Nagpur for an examination, and a patient requiring urgent medical attention. Boats were deployed after roads became impassable due to flooding, with as many as 700 people rescued from Bhamragarh Tehsil. No casualties were reported in this area, though 24 roads were rendered inaccessible. Bhamragar, which received 200 mm of rain in the past 24 hours, faced significant challenges. The rainfall was also notable in other districts. Wardha recorded 88 mm of rain, contributing to the active monsoon conditions across central Vidarbha.
