Central Railway Nagpur Division Achieves 86% Train Punctuality in 2025-26 Nagpur: The Central Railway Nagpur Division has achieved an impressive 86% punctuality for mail and express trains in the financial year 2025-26. This marks a significant improvement in train management, reflecting efficient operations despite ongoing infrastructure upgrades and increased traffic volumes. The divisional railway manager, Vinayak Garg, highlighted that the division managed an average of 151 mail and express trains and 121 passenger trains daily, while also implementing various passenger-friendly facilities that enhanced travel comfort, speed, and reliability. Several key initiatives directly benefited passengers and improved overall service quality. Garg mentioned that many stations were upgraded to enable better train traffic movements and increase line capacity for smoother operations. Additional loop lines were commissioned at many stations to reduce delays and enhance flexibility. The 23 km WR-Deoli-Kalam section was electrified in June last year, contributing to the improved service. In freight operations, there was a substantial increase in iron ore traffic, which rose by 176.7% from 1.50 million tonnes last year to 4.16 million tonnes in 2025-26. The number of loaded rakes increased from 371 to 1,020. Other freight categories also saw growth, with cement and clinker loading rising by 12.7%, iron and steel by 90.3%, and container loading by 4.7%. The first Pit Wheel Lathe was commissioned at Ajni coaching depot, improving coach maintenance quality and turnaround time.
