Tata Motors Unveils First 7-Seater Electric SUV, Safari.EV, with 600 km Range and Advanced Features Tata Motors is set to launch its first 7-seater electric SUV, the Safari.EV, during the upcoming festive season. This model will mark the company’s entry into the electric vehicle segment with a 7-seater configuration, positioning it as a direct competitor to Mahindra’s XEV 9S. The Safari.EV is expected to offer a range of up to 600 kilometers, making it one of the longest-range electric SUVs in India. The vehicle will be based on Tata’s new Acti.EV+ platform, known for its enhanced ride quality and safety features. The design of the Safari.EV will retain the overall shape of the conventional Safari SUV, with no significant changes to its dimensions, roof rails, or shark fin antenna. However, subtle modifications will be introduced to accommodate its electric powertrain, including a closed front grille, redesigned front and rear bumpers, and aerodynamically optimized alloy wheels. A distinctive "EV" badge will also be added to emphasize its electric variant. Inside the cabin, the Safari.EV is expected to feature a premium setup, potentially including a three-screen configuration. This would consist of a driver display, a central touchscreen, and an additional screen for rear passengers. The vehicle will likely offer advanced features such as 540-degree camera systems, ventilated seats, panoramic sunroofs, Dolby Atmos sound systems, and Level-2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems). A "sumo mode" for parking without using the steering wheel is also anticipated as a unique selling point.
