Nagpur NGO Boss Accused of Sexual Abuse and Religious Coercion; Office Raided, Investigation Into 16-Year History Unfolds NAGPUR: A 48-year-old man accused of sexually abusing and coercing three employees through religious practices was arrested on Saturday night and remains in police custody until April 23. The individual, Riyaz Fazil Qazi, ran an NGO at Zingabai Takli, which focused on underprivileged children. Following his arrest, police conducted searches at his office in northwest Nagpur to investigate the NGO’s 16-year history, seizing documents, bank records, electronic devices, and other materials. Intelligence agencies and the Maharashtra anti-terrorist squad (ATS) are also conducting a parallel probe. Mankapur police senior inspector Haresh Kalsekar has been instructed to contact the charity commissioner to obtain details about the NGO’s registration, funding sources, and activities over the years. The investigation team is now reviewing the staff list, including former employees who left the organization. A senior official stated, “The probe will encompass women employees who left the organization in 16 years, why they quit, and whether they were harassed. We are trying to unearth what was happening inside the NGO.” CCTV footage from the NGO’s premises and seized electronic gadgets have been sent to a forensic laboratory to check for sexually explicit content or religiously sensitive material. The main complainant, a 23-year-old woman who served as the NGO’s HR and admin head, alleged that Qazi hugged and kissed her against her will, made her uncomfortable by insisting she adopt certain religious practices, unplugged CCTV cameras before embracing her, and created a fake Instagram account using parts of their names to stalk women employees.#nagpur #riyaz_fazil_qazi #zingabai_takli #mankapur_police_senior_inspector_haresh_kalsekar #maharashtra_anti_terrorist_squad_ats
