Lee Cronin's The Mummy Concludes Theatrical Run in India with Rs 35 Crore Box Office Earnings Lee Cronin's horror film The Mummy has concluded its theatrical run in India, achieving a total box office collection of Rs 35 crore. The film, which opened with a relatively modest performance, managed to build momentum over its six-week run, ultimately securing its place as a notable success for Clean Hit, the production company behind the project. The final tally of Rs 35.25 crore, as reported by trade estimates, reflects the film's ability to sustain audience interest despite its initial underwhelming start. The movie's box office trajectory followed a distinct pattern. Its first week grossed Rs 17.25 crore, setting the stage for a gradual but steady rise in earnings. The second week saw an addition of Rs 11.75 crore, while the third week contributed Rs 4 crore. Following this, the film continued to draw audiences, adding nearly Rs 2.25 crore in the subsequent weeks. These figures underscore the film's resilience in a competitive market, where horror films often struggle to maintain consistent viewership. While The Mummy did not match the box office dominance of recent Hollywood releases like Project Hail Mary or Michael, its performance was deemed satisfactory for a mid-sized horror film. The film's ability to generate revenue over an extended period highlights the potential of genre-driven projects in India, particularly when they align with audience preferences and marketing strategies. Having said that, Hollywood films are witnessing a glorious run in India this year, with back-to-back successful ventures. While the second half of 2026 is full of big titles, it will be interesting to see whether more small or mid-sized titles can surprise at the box office.#box_office #india #lee_cronin #the_mummy #clean_hit

EXCLUSIVE: Dhamaal 4 moves to July 17; Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar’s gentleman’s agreement avoids major box office clash In a major reshuffle for Bollywood’s 2026 release calendar, Dhamaal 4 has officially moved from July 3 to July 17, 2026, avoiding a clash with Akshay Kumar’s mega comedy entertainer Welcome to the Jungle. Trade sources reveal that the decision came after a direct conversation between Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar, with both stars agreeing that two large-scale ensemble comedies releasing a week apart would impact each other’s box office potential. Instead of competing head-on, the actors reportedly chose a more strategic route, giving both films enough breathing space in theatres. Welcome to the Jungle, directed by Ahmed Khan, is locked for a June 26, 2026, release and boasts an ensemble cast featuring Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Raveena Tandon, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez, Arshad Warsi, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Johnny Lever, Lara Dutta, Shreyas Talpade, Tusshar Kapoor and several others. Meanwhile, Dhamaal 4 brings back franchise favourites Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi, Sanjay Mishra and Jaaved Jaaferi, alongside new additions Esha Gupta, Sanjeeda Shaikh, Anjali Anand, Upendra Limaye and Ravi Kishan. With the revised release plan, both films now get a three-week window, considered ideal in today’s theatrical market for maximizing word-of-mouth and weekend collections. Maatrubhumi’s biggest challenge is the fog of repositioning that could alter its box office variables There are films that arrive with a roar. And then there are films that arrive with a question mark. Salman Khan’s Maatrubhumi increasingly feels like the second kind. That is what makes this film so fascinating from a trade point of view. Not because the subject is weak. Not because the star is not big enough. Not because patriotism has stopped working. But because a film that was once powered by absolute clarity now seems trapped in a fog of repositioning. When it was conceived as Battle Of Galwan, the idea sold itself. It had immediacy. It had a recall. It had a charged emotional memory attached to it. It had the kind of headline value that mainstream Hindi cinema rarely gets without spending crores on awareness. It was later rechristened Maatrubhumi, and the newer version was significantly reworked, with reportedly nearly 40% reshot, additional romantic and backstory elements added, and China no longer mentioned. And that changes the game completely. That is the sword hanging over Maatrubhumi. At birth, this was a smart move. A very smart move. A film inspired by Galwan in the immediate shadow of the 2020 clash was not just topical; it was explosive in the right way. It came with a built-in theatrical promise: sacrifice, valour, anger, national pride and a clearly understood adversarial context. You did not need to over-explain the pitch. Audiences got it ... #box_office #Salman_Khan #film #biggest #Maatrubhumi #films #biggest_challenge #office_variables #arrive #roar
