CBSE Class 10 Exam Results: Maharashtra Leads with 96.99% Pass Rate Nagpur: The Pune regional division of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) reported a 96.99% pass rate in the Class 10 Exam 1 results, announced on Wednesday. This marks a significant improvement, with the Pune division securing the 7th position nationally, climbing from 9th place in the previous year. The results reflect a growing emphasis on conceptual learning, academic discipline, and holistic development in Maharashtra’s CBSE schools. State-wise analysis revealed that 1,27,123 students from Maharashtra appeared for the examination, comprising 72,433 boys and 54,690 girls. A total of 1,23,921 students cleared the exam, with 70,270 boys and 53,651 girls passing. The results are part of CBSE’s newly introduced dual-examination system, aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP). Under this system, Class 10 students now have the option to appear for two board exams. The first phase, conducted in February-March, serves as the primary examination, while the second is scheduled for May, allowing students to improve their scores. Southern regions dominated the national rankings, with Trivandrum and Vijayawada jointly securing the top position at 99.79% pass rate. Chennai followed at 99.58%, while Bengaluru (98.91%) and Delhi West (97.45%) completed the top five. Delhi East ranked sixth with 97.33%, just ahead of the Pune division. Pune’s rise to the 7th spot highlights its academic progress, surpassing regions like Ahmedabad (96.61%) and Ludhiana (95.70%). Other notable performers included Ajmer (94.78%), Bhubaneswar (94.67%), and Gurugram (93.21%), while Bhopal (92.48%), Panchkula (92.24%), and Lucknow (91.63%) maintained strong pass percentages.
