Mobile Spills Proof, Cousin Held in Minor’s Rape-and-Pregnancy Case Nagpur: Police in Nagpur have solved a case involving the sexual abuse of a 17-year-old girl after mobile phone records and persistent investigation broke the family’s silence. The girl, a Class 12 student, was diagnosed with advanced pregnancy during her HSC board examinations and later gave birth to a stillborn fetus on March 17 at the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). A case was registered under relevant legal sections and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act following the incident. The case initially remained hidden as the girl’s family refused to disclose details, claiming she had not left the house. Investigators faced challenges in obtaining cooperation, as the girl was medically unfit to provide a statement in the early stages of the probe. Even later, she allegedly avoided answering questions, possibly to protect the accused. Police conducted repeated visits to the family’s residence and monitored movements closely. A breakthrough came when investigators analyzed mobile phone records. The girl had been using her mother’s phone, which revealed frequent chats and prolonged calls to a specific number traced to her maternal cousin. Despite this, the family continued to deny any wrongdoing. Further analysis of tower location data showed the girl’s and her cousin’s phones were at the same location for several hours on a day in July 2025—a hotel in the Hudkeshwar area. Hotel records confirmed both had checked in together. Confronted with call records, location data, and hotel evidence, the survivor eventually confessed to the police that her cousin had sexually assaulted her at the hotel, resulting in the pregnancy.#nagpur #rahul_madane #government_medical_college_and_hospital #shital_jasud #ritesh_aher

57 Goons Externed Ahead of Ram Navami Nagpur: To ensure peaceful celebrations of the Ram Navami festival, city police have issued temporary externment orders for three days against 57 individuals identified as potential troublemakers from central Nagpur. According to zonal deputy commissioner of police Rahul Madane, preventive measures have been intensified to maintain law and order and prevent any disturbance to public peace during the festival. The decision reflects the authorities’ proactive approach to safeguarding public safety amid heightened security concerns ahead of the religious event. The externment orders, which prohibit the listed individuals from being present in the city during the festival period, are part of broader efforts to curb criminal activities and ensure a secure environment for worshippers. The police have emphasized that these measures are necessary to deter any attempts at disrupting the festive atmosphere, which is expected to draw large crowds. The move has been welcomed by local community leaders, who have praised the police for prioritizing public safety. Madane stated that the police department has deployed additional personnel to monitor key areas and conduct regular patrols. He also highlighted the importance of community cooperation in maintaining order, urging citizens to report any suspicious activities. The externment orders are valid for three days, coinciding with the festival’s celebration period, and will be reviewed after the event to assess their effectiveness. This initiative underscores the challenges faced by law enforcement in balancing security with the cultural significance of public festivals. Similar measures have been observed in other cities across the state, where authorities have taken steps to prevent incidents that could mar the festive spirit.#nagpur #ram_navami #rahul_madane #central_nagpur #police_department
