Krazy Castle Revival: Four Firms Submit Plans for Theme Park and Commercial Hub Nagpur: Four firms have submitted detailed redevelopment proposals for the now-closed Krazy Castle site, aiming to transform the landmark property into a theme park and commercial hub under a public-private partnership (PPP) model. The plans, presented to MahaMetro officials, are currently undergoing evaluation to assess their technical feasibility, financial viability, and long-term sustainability before a developer is selected. The site, spanning 5.39 acres near Ambazari Lake and adjacent to Dharampeth College Metro Station, has remained largely unused since the closure of Krazy Castle Aqua Park during Phase I of the Metro project. The redevelopment initiative is designed to generate non-fare revenue for the Metro, with nearly 4.96 acres allocated for an amusement park and approximately 1,752 square meters reserved for commercial use. According to the project’s design brief, MahaMetro envisions an international-standard amusement destination catering to all age groups. The development may include a Global Village-inspired theme park, amusement rides, entertainment and recreation zones, indoor gaming arcades, bowling alleys, restaurants, food courts, exhibition centres, auditoriums, community halls, banquet facilities, and parking infrastructure. A key aspect of the project is the integration of landmark-inspired structures modeled on iconic global landmarks such as the Taj Mahal, Disney Castle, Eiffel Tower, Statue of Liberty, Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, Burj Khalifa, Burj Al Arab, and pavilions representing China and Thailand. The selected developer will be responsible for refurbishing and strengthening these structures as part of the redevelopment.#mahaMetro #krazy_castle #ambazari_lake #dharampeth_college_metro_station #burj_khalifa

Dormant Krazy Castle set to rise as big attraction, MahaMetro plans theme park, commercial hub Nagpur: After years of uncertainty following the dismantling of Krazy Castle Aqua Park at Ambazari for the Metro Rail corridor, MahaMetro has announced plans to develop an international-standard amusement and commercial complex at the site. The project, which will span over 5.3 acres near Ambazari Lake, is being floated through an Expression of Interest (EOI) process. The development will be divided into two main components: a 5-acre theme park and a smaller commercial parcel of approximately 1,752 square meters. The commercial area is expected to house revenue-generating facilities, while the theme park will be adjacent to Dharampeth College Metro Station, offering direct connectivity via the Metro network. What distinguishes the project is its Global Village-style concept, which is already partially visible at the site. MahaMetro previously installed facades of iconic global landmarks, including replicas inspired by the Taj Mahal, Eiffel Tower, Statue of Liberty, Disney Castle, and structures resembling Dubai’s skyline. These existing structures will be handed over to the selected developer, who will be responsible for upgrading and integrating them into a fully functional theme park. The developer will also be tasked with creating additional attractions and ensuring the site meets international standards for entertainment and commercial activity. The project is being developed under a public-private partnership (PPP) model, which aims to leverage private sector expertise and investment to bring the site to life. MahaMetro’s EOI process is designed to attract developers capable of executing such a large-scale, multi-faceted project.#nagpur #mahaMetro #krazy_castle #ambazari_lake #dharampeth_college
