According to police sources, Nagpur Rural RTO received an anonymous letter naming three individuals—Mohammad Hussain Mohammad Ismail (39), Dinesh Kumar Omprakash (53), and Mohammad Ejaz Abdul Rehman—who allegedly brought four trucks registered in Arunachal Pradesh to Nagpur Rural RTO in March 2022. These vehicles were illegally re-registered as Maharashtra transport vehicles, the letter claimed. Following this, a fact-finding inquiry was initiated, and the matter was referred to the police. An FIR was registered at Kapil Nagar police station on July 1, based on a complaint from a motor vehicle inspector at Nagpur Rural RTO. The complaint alleged that stolen vehicles were registered at three RTOs in Madhya Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, and Maharashtra. Police stated that the stolen vehicles were first given fake identities in Dewas, Madhya Pradesh, then re-registered in Arunachal Pradesh with the help of RTO officers. These vehicles were subsequently brought to Nagpur, where they were re-registered again using documents prepared in Arunachal Pradesh and put into commercial use. The racketeers fabricated fake documents, altered engine and chassis numbers, and registered the vehicles in local RTOs. Local doctors performed an emergency tracheostomy before transferring her to AIIMS-Nagpur in May. Over the subsequent weeks, a multidisciplinary team of ENT surgeons, anaesthetists, and paediatric specialists at AIIMS meticulously reconstructed the damaged framework of her tiny larynx and restored the delicate lining of her airway. The treatment also addressed deep-seated infections caused by the dog bite, which posed one of the most complex challenges in paediatric care. Doctors emphasized that reconstructing a crushed and infected airway in a child requires a carefully planned, multi-stage approach, involving evaluations under general anaesthesia, intensive paediatric critical care, and multiple airway reconstruction procedures.
